Powering Up a New Corporate Headquarters

Mid-City had outgrown their existing office space and needed a new location for their full-service staff of talented electricians and technicians who provide construction services within any commercial space. Serving the business community of Columbus for 56 years, the Mid-City team offers full-service construction, renovation, servicing and design of electrical systems.

Strategy

The new office space features a number of nods to major projects in which Mid-City played a role. The company served as contractor in some of the largest commercial and residential developments, from the Parks Edge condominium project and the National Veterans Memorial and Museum to several projects on and around Ohio State University.

Collaborating with M+A Architects, who designed the new headquarters and Construction Systems Inc., who was the general contractor, our team at KCI Works fabricated and installed the new reception desk in the main lobby and the employee break room table and lunch room booths.

Result

Mid-City is one of the largest family-owned companies in Central Ohio, according to Columbus Business First research, with 240 employees and the new space has given the company room to grow and combine two locations into one.

Brian Dew (President) said in an email the company's new workspace helps it bring aboard good people. “Our team is really important to us," he said. "They are our greatest strength. We’re going to do everything we can to ensure their success, and to attract more individuals just like them.”
